Welcome
WELCOME ... to Soroptimist International Gold Coast (SIGC).
We are proud members of a global volunteer
women’s service and advocacy organization. Our club is a non-profit
organisation dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls.
The name ‘Soroptimist’ means “best
for women” and that is what we are—women at our best helping other women
achieve their best.
SIGC helps women locally on the Gold Coast,
regionally in Queensland and on a global scale by joining with like-minded
people to encourage change in many areas of society which affect women and
girls. SIGC has over 20 members from the Gold Coast and surrounding area who
work in project work, fundraising, membership and social to uphold the ideals
of Soroptimism.
We meet regularly … and with a
purpose. We invite speakers to discuss programs and ideas, many of which
we later adopt as service projects or to whom we provide philanthropic
assistance. Our meetings are held the third Wednesday monthly at the Gold
Coast Arts Centre.
