The "Soropt GER" project is a housing project. This project provides a typical Mongolian rounded house called a GER, made from wood and sheep's wool, for homeless families.
The traditional Mongolian GER is perfect for nomadic life. The whole Ger costs round 1000$ US.
The "Soropt GER" project has been implemented by generous financial support from Soroptimists of SI New Plymouth in New Zealand, SI Suruga in Japan, SI Hileroid in Denmark, Swedish Soroptimist clubs, SI Chur in Switzerland and SI Hong Kong.
Soroptimist International South West Pacific have donated AUD $2000.00 towards the Ger Housing Project.
SI Darkhan and Soroptimists of Mongolia highly appreciate our Soroptimist sisters' generous financial support and their kind assistance to the "Soropt GER" project.
There is still much demand for the "Soropt Ger" project as Mongolia is one of the coldest countries and SI Darkhan is very happy to serve women and girls to change their lives in the name of "SOROPTIMIST INTERNATIONAL" . To see the happy faces and sincere smiles with tears of happiness - that is the biggest reward to us - all Soroptimists.
With heartfelt thanks,
Project Coordinator
