Empowering Young Women Through Education is a program event designed to inspire, inform and energise young women to see how the education opportunities they have now will shape the lives they have in the future.

A buffet breakfast is provided while students hear from inspirational speakers, participate in exciting activities and have the chance to meet and talk with professional women from a wide range of occupations. This offer is open to students in years 9–10; who are at risk of not completing Year 12 is limited to 1 table of 7 per school (including teacher/s). The event is held at the NAB Arena, Docklands in Melbourne.

Keynote Speakers:
Annabelle Chauncy OAM, co-established the School For Life Foundation (SFL) in 2008. SFL is a grassroots organisation that has built and runs 2 schools in Rural Uganda, with a third school in development. The schools provide high quality education to more
than 400 primary students, including children with disabilities, vocational training to more than 100 adults, clean drinking water, electricity, community outreach and medical treatment to their surrounding communities. The school also runs a 10-acre farm
that provides food for the children and crops to fund the project. Annabelle will reveal the challenges and obstacles she faces as a
young, foreign, female idealist with a dream and a passion to make a difference to the lives of others.

Naty Guerrero-Diaz was born in Chile and when she was aged 8 she migrated to Australia with her family under a humanitarian visa. Naty struggled to fit in socially at primary school and during the early years of secondary school. After many years of both
personal and academic struggle, Naty is now working with a top tier commercial law firm and primarily practices in the area of health litigation. In 2014 Naty co-founded an Animal Sanctuary where resident animals and humans can live free from harm and
where diversity and inclusion are embraced and practiced. Naty’s journey between then and now is truly admirable and inspirational. She will share her ups and her downs and her key strategies for coping and dealing with her life challenges from
teenager to now
