As part of a recent trip to Thailand for United Nations Meetings, SISWP President Anusha Santhirasthipam along with SI UN Representative Bangkok Dr. Theresa Devasahayam and SWP Membership Convenor Rosaline Miller attended United Nations meetings including a meeting with UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation). Our priorities are equal access to education for women and girls, minorities and marginalised communities, programmes to promote sustainable development and peace, global citizenship, transformative life skills to overcome conflict situations, tackle climate change and natural disasters, capacity building and mentoring of teachers as "role models", prevention of gender-based sexual violence in schools, prevention of violent extremism and peace building programmes for children and youth.
