SI PA Logo Vertical ColorThe International President's Appeal 2019-2021 supported projects that educate, empower and enable women and girls, to ensure no one is left behind.

The Road to Equality Appeal 2019-2021 focused on issues that were already the focus of much of the SI advocacy work, such as child marriage, FGM/C, the rights of older women, human trafficking, migration, and domestic violence. A grassroots project for each topic brought stories from the field that were shared, allowing Soroptimists to turn up the volume of our global voice.

Note: President's Appeal - Road to Equality 2019-2021 has now closed. Donations for this program are no longer being accepted.

UN Secretary General, Mr. Antonio Guterres has stated that achieving gender equality and empowering women and girls is the “unfinished business of our time, and the greatest human rights challenge in our world.” The adoption of the 2030 Agenda pledged to ensure “no one will be left behind” and to “endeavour to reach the furthest behind first”.

The Road to Equality focused on the role Soroptimist International could play in achieving gender equality as we developed capacity and raised awareness on human rights challenges that prevent women and girls from reaching their full potential. Child Marriage, FGM, Domestic Violence, Trafficking, Migration and the rights of Older Women are some of the issues that our UN representatives and your SI team advocate for globally. We ask for your financial support, your
voice and your commitment to impact these human rights issues on the Road to Equality through the following actions:

• Supported best practice projects that create change in grassroots communities.

• Soroptimist regional forums & webinars that created awareness while increasing our profile. We were able to people together around our Soroptimist Mission, including identifying lived experiences and knowledge within our membership in finding our advocacy voices.

• Networked with other organisations to increase our collective Global Advocacy Voice.
