16 Days of Activism

Soroptimist International South East Asia Pacific, joins the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence this is an annual international campaign that kicks off on 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and runs until 10 December, Human Rights Day NGO's and all to bring about an END to domestic and gender based violence in all its forms. 

For decades Soroptimists from SISEAP, have run numerous campaigns to raise awareness.  Walk the Talk. End Coehesive Control are but a few. 

2023 theme will be:

 “Wired for Change: Tech’s Impact on Gender-Based Abuse”

Wired for Change looks at the impact that technology has had in shaping gender-based abuse and violence; how it has been a force for bad but also how it has impacted the world positively.

The Orange Story Daphne White launched the “Recognising Coercive Control” online toolkit on the 30th of November 2022, on day 6 of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-based Violence.  The launch was held in her home town of Geraldton, and there was a great turnout, with both in-person and virtual attendees.  The support for the toolkit has been positive, and it is encouraging to see the interest in raising awareness of this critical topic.
